In order to move my business forward, I decided it was time to have a website created. I was directed to Stuart Bowness of Simple Station by another visual artist; an important referral given the fact that I needed to display my own artwork. Stuart proved to be passionate and completely on board with my vision. He is clearly someone who loves what he does and through his creativity and excitement was able to come up with a stellar end product.

It was extremely important to me to have a simple, precise and uncluttered site in order for my own clients to easily navigate and find information. Along with all of this, I wanted to display my photographs with style and class in a vibrant, visually pleasing format. Stuart and I put our heads together during multiple meetings where he was able to take my wishes and requirements and using his technical brilliance, come up with a polished and stimulating website.

I have received endless compliments on the site from people who have visited. I can only pass on these compliments to Stuart for his phenomenal workmanship. He was able to really listen to what I needed, even when I wasn’t sure what that was! In addition to the visual, he was able to deliver some very functional pieces that were important to me so that I can control and manage my site with ease.

My experience working with Simple Station, particularly Stuart Bowness, was nothing short of wonderful! As a visual artist, I had distinct requirements for my web site that was very important to me. Not only did the web site need to function easily, but it also needed to support the viewing of my artwork as a virtual gallery. A clean presentation was an absolute necessity so as to feature and compliment all of the artwork I would be showing. While I knew what I wanted, I had limited experience with computers...this is where Stuart made the process of developing my web site a breeze! He was able to work closely with me from the ground up, addressing all of my concerns, to create the beautiful and impressive site that I had hoped for. Stuart was great to work with, as he was clear, efficient and knowledgeable. He developed creative solutions to my specific needs. He was even able to indulge my artist's eye, and temperament, making realtime changes to the site as I fussed over every detail. He was patient and understanding, knowing how very important it was for me to get it right.

Since the launch of my web site I have been able to maintain and update it through the panel that was provided. This feature has been indispensable to me. I am able to keep my featured artwork current, update my client lists, sales and exhibition schedules. The panel is simple and clear to use. Even I have been able to successfully edit my site!

I have nothing but good things to say about Simple Station. Right from the get-go they showed professionalism. We’ve had a lot of experience dealing with companies over the phone and internet because of our remote location in Northern Ontario. The majority of the time we find that companies are ill prepared to do a good presentation this way: they set an appointment and then reschedule, they have trouble with the software they plan to use. Simple Station's presentation was well orchestrated. They made it easy for lay people to understand and their ease with software and technical matters was immediately apparent.

We were just getting into the web. Our industry was one of the slower ones to make use of the internet so we wanted to be sure that the investment was worth it. Initially, we didn’t want to invest too much. Simple Station presented an affordable option with all the features that we required. Their design instincts were better than we had anticipated, and after a short general discussion about graphic symbols found a shape for our home page that we love. They promised a very short development time. They proposed to complete the website in 5 weeks from start to finish - this was easily done. Certain features were customized to make our site more useful to viewers. During the course of development our questions, queries, and preferences were responded to quickly and professionally.

There are probably other companies that provide that high level of service but what they don’t have is a custom content management system! I’ve really enjoyed editing our site, adding products, and editing product information. The name of one of our products changed due to a company takeover and I was able to make that change in about 30 seconds at no additional cost to us. We were promised it would be as easy as editing a word processing document and it really is!

My concerns about being thousands of miles apart were laid to rest, and in fact, proved groundless when Simple Station came to our rescue over a glitch with our company email accounts, which were being routed through their server. When our entire company – 5 separate locations – was unable to access emails, Simple Station responded immediately. They checked that everything was functioning properly from their end. Only after many phone calls and emails was Simple Station able to prove to our telephone company/internet provider that the problem lay with them. This was service above and beyond the terms of our contract, but without Simple Station we would have been days without this essential means of communication and undoubtedly would have lost business. Again, proving that distance is meaningless in the cyber world!

I would unequivocally recommend Simple Station to anyone needing a website. I know their experience will be as pleasant and productive as ours has been.
